Visitors search your office for 4 pieces of candy corn, each with its own QR code, and scan them with their mobile device to earn points automatically. No staff time needed, just treats.
Why it matters: A seasonal hunt turns a routine visit into a moment members remember and talk about. It rewards them for being present and engaged, gets them into the app, and gives your team an easy way to start fun, friendly conversations at check-in.
Note: If a member isn't logged in or hasn't registered yet, they can enter their name and date of birth to claim their points. They'll then be guided through registration, so your contest also helps you grow your app community.
1. Create a QR Code for Each Piece of Candy Corn
- Go to Settings ⚙️ > Automations in your Hub and click +Add.
- Choose Office Visit Points - QR Code.
- Give your automation a descriptive title, such as "Candy Corn Contest - QR Code for Candy Corn #1".
- Choose which groups can join the hunt, such as future and active members.
- Choose your reward amount. Every point in the Hub equals 10 cents, and you'll have 4 pieces of candy corn awarding points, so plan your total. Consider varying the points per piece to make some candy corn feel like a "golden find."
- Set a QR Scan Limit high enough that each member can earn points for each piece only once, such as once every 9 months.
- Activate the automation.
- Download the small QR code (1.5" square) from the Assets list.
- Repeat these steps for each of your 4 pieces of candy corn.
Each code awards points to a member only once. Creating a unique automation for every piece means members earn points for each one they find, which keeps them hunting until they've found all 4.
2. Prepare Your Candy Corn for the Hunt
- Download the candy corn graphics attached at the end of this article.
- Print one piece of candy corn per page.
- Cut out your QR codes and attach a unique code to each piece. Don't use the same QR code on more than one piece.
- Cut out your candy corn along the dotted lines and post them around your office.
Spreading the candy corn across your space encourages members to explore and linger, and a well-hidden piece makes finding it feel like a real win.
3. Spread the Word
We've created a flyer to help promote the contest in your office. Place it in an acrylic stand on your front counter so members see it the moment they check in.
