👩‍💻 How to add an email address to my safe senders list

To make sure our messages always make it to you, and don’t get lost in spam, you can add us to your safe senders list or contacts. Each email provider handles this a little differently, but it’s a quick and simple step that ensures you stay connected and never miss an update that matters. Below, you’ll find easy instructions for several popular email platforms. Just choose the one you use and follow the steps to keep our emails landing right where they belong: in your inbox!

*Note These instructions and screenshots were published on 11 July 2025 and were written for the latest version of each third-party email service provider at that time. Refer to your email provider's official documentation or support for the latest instructions or help with other versions.

Outlook

Outlook has a Safe Senders list you can add email addresses and domain names to. Email messages from safe senders are never moved to the Junk email folder.  

By default, email addresses in your Outlook contacts are already considered safe senders by the Junk Email Filter, but you can change this setting.

Note These steps are for the new version of Outlook. See Microsoft's documentation Add recipients to the Safe Senders List in Outlook for more details and for help with other Outlook versions.

To add an email address to your Safe Senders list

  1. If you have more than one account added to new Outlook, select the account you want to add the settings to.
  2. Select Settings > Mail > Junk email.
  3. Under Junk email, scroll down to Senders, and select the Safe senders and domains tab.
  4. Select + Add safe sender, and enter the email address for the recipient you want to add.
  5. Select OK, and then select Save.

Gmail

To make sure that a sender's emails don't end up in your Gmail spam or junk folder, you need to set up a filter for specific email addresses and add an action to never send emails from those senders to spam.

To set up a filter with the "Never send to Spam" action

  1. In your Gmail account, select the Settings , and then select See all settings.
  2. Select the Filters and Blocked Addresses tab, and then select Create a new filter.
  3. In the From field, enter the email address you want to add, and then select Create filter.
  4. Select the Never send it to Spam action, and then select Create filter.
    The filter appears in your list of filters.

Apple Mail for macOS (Mac desktop)

To make sure you receive emails from a specific sender in Apple Mail, you need to set up a folder and add a safe sender rule. 

Note These instructions are for macOS Ventura (version 13) and later.

To create a new folder with a safe sender rule

  1. In your iCloud Mail account, select the settings icon, and then select Settings.
  2. In the menu bar, select Rules, and then select + to add a new rule.
  3. You can name the rule "Safe Sender."
  4. Under Message, select is from, and then enter the email address you want to add to your safe sender list.
  5. Under Action, select Move to Folder, and then select Choose a folder.
  6. Select an existing folder you want to use or create a new folder, and then select Done.
  7. Select Add to add your rule.

Apple Mail for iOS (iPhone or iPad)

To make sure you receive emails from a sender on Apple Mail for iPhone or iPad, you can add the sender as a contact. You can also add the contact to your VIP list to ensure emails from this sender never get sent to Spam or Junk.

To create a new a new contact

  1. In your Mail app, find and select an email from the sender you want to add as a contact.
  2. Select the sender's name or address.
  3. Select Create New Contact, enter information about the contact, and then select Done.
  4. (Optional) To be extra sure that emails from this sender never get send to Spam or Junk, select the contact, and then select Add to VIP.

Yahoo Mail

To make sure you receive emails from a sender in Yahoo Mail, add the sender as a contact.

Note These instructions are for the "new version" of Yahoo Mail.

To add a new contact

  1. In your Yahoo Mail account, select the Contacts icon.

  2. Select + Add a new contact.
  3. Enter the name and email address of the contact, and then select Save.

Hotmail

Hotmail is deprecated and all Hotmail email addresses can only be used with Outlook. To add a sender to your safe senders list, follow the instructions for Outlook.

AOL Mail

To make sure you receive emails from a sender in AOL Mail, add the sender as a contact.

  1. In your AOL Mail account, select the Contact icon to open your contacts list.
  2. Select New Contact or Add Contact, or +, depending on your AOL Mail version.
  3. Enter the email address and any other additional information, and then select Save.
