Adding Emails to Sibling Accounts

Follow

When it comes to families with multiple children, parents can put the same parent email address on all their children's accounts in the "Responsible Party Email Address" field, but must use different emails in each "Email Address" field.

If the children do not yet have their own emails, then the parents can either leave the Email Address field blank and sign into their accounts using the usernames on their cards or they can put proxy (fake) emails in the Patient Email fields on each account and use those as usernames instead.

For example:

Child #1

  • Name:
    Jenny Andrews
  • Email Address:
jenny@andrews.com (a proxy email unique to this account)
  • Responsible Party Email Address:
andrewsfamily@gmail.com (a real email shared across all three accounts)

Child #2

Child #3

  • Name:
    Sammi Andrews
  • Email Address:
sam@andrews.com (a proxy email unique to this account)
  • Responsible Party Email Address:
andrewsfamily@gmail.com (a real email shared across all three accounts)

As you can see in the examples above, the same parent email address is used for all three accounts, but the children's names (in the form of emails) are used as patient emails in each account. This way, the parents don't have to type 16 different numbers each time they want to log into a different account. 😄

For ultimate ease of access, they (or you) can even reset the passwords on each child's account to something easy and memorable like "1234" so that they don't have to memorize completely different combos for each child.

In the future, we plan on rolling out a Parent/Child interface that will allow parents to have one primary account for their entire family. Until then, we recommend using this solution for your families with multiple children.
